Can you please try this on a current Feisty, preferably a live CD? If the problem still happens in the first place, apport will catch the bug and collect useful information for us. It'll file a new bug, though, but that doesn't matter much as long as you can give a pointer to the new bug here.

Hi Brian, sorry, I was afk for a couple of days. The ubuntu version is 6.10 with xubuntu (but same problem with gnome) desktop. The other versions are libnm-util0 0.6.3-2ubuntu6 linux-image-2.6.17-10-386 2.6.17.1-10.34
