Can you please try this on a current Feisty, preferably a live CD? If
the problem still happens in the first place, apport will catch the bug
and collect useful information for us. It'll file a new bug, though, but
that doesn't matter much as long as you can give a pointer to the new

sorry, I was afk for a couple of days.
The ubuntu version is 6.10 with xubuntu (but same problem with gnome)
desktop. The other versions are
