Upgrade of flashplugin-nonfree doesn't remove the old version
I didn't install it or touch Flash in any way to cause this problem. It
was already installed in Edgy, then worked fine after the Feisty upgrade
as far as I remember, and then stopped working after the Gutsy upgrade
the other day. When I uninstalled and reinstalled today it was through
Synaptic.
This is happening after my upgrade to Gutsy. Every website says Flash
is outdated.
Other bug says: Please remove flash from system (sudo apt-get remove
--purge flashplugin-nonfree) than reinstall it (sudo apt-get install
flashplugin-nonfree) than restart all browsers
I tried this and it still
reopen as it occurs in gutsy?

Maybe it doesn't happen in Feisty. I've tried it on two different Edgy
systems (my home system and my work system) and it happened on both.
You're sure you have the old tarball still sitting in /usr/lib
/flashplugin-nonfree-unpackdir, alongside the new one?

Upgrade of flashplugin-nonfree
I just tried putting the beta tarball back into the unpackdir directory
and re-running dpkg-reconfigure, and restarting FireFox. The problem
didn't come back (I still only have the new r31 version of the plugin
showing up in about:plugins).
BTW, info about moving the unpackdir directory should
