Indeed, that's not the right file, and hasn't been in forever.
The file you're looking for in /var/log/syslog, but I'm not sure how
much that will help now that some time has gone by since the crash. See
if you can get the logs for July 30th in /var/log/syslog files (probably
the .gz by now). If n
I encountered this bug once again, but still don't have a
/var/log/daemon.log .
Are you sure that this file actually should exist on my system? All I
have in /var/log that starts with d is dmesg logs and dpkg.
