I notice on redhat using rdesktop 1.6 it does not lock up. I think it may be due to some kind of conflict with compiz. I logged in using gnome safe mode (I think that switches off compiz) and it seems not to hang up any more. (I am using Linux Mint Julia which Is based on Maverick Meerkat - 10.10)
