Alsa 1.0.25 was released today and it contains the x-fi titanium
support. From the changelog:
- ALSA: ctxfi: Add support for Creative Titanium HD
Initialise model-specific DAC and ADC parts.
Add controls for output and mic source selection.

Daniel Chen's suggestion. My suggestion would be to try an Ubuntu 11.10
or 12.04 Live disc.
