On Oneiric, when you have a keyboard with numpad, numbers are always off on 
boot. Each time you boot you have to press numlock on the keyboard which is a 
bit frustrating.
Former ubuntu releases could keep that setting which is not true with gnome 3.
To solve the problem you need to install numlockx but the right behaviour 
should be set by default.
