Screen Brightness
In comment 5, I also have the Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile D9500
model. The problem is with the hardware because it is replicible on
Widows XP. The Brightness adjustment via the Fn hard keys do not work
correctly and adjustment via the settings only work for the open
session.

On my laptop, the screen brightness is set to 100% after each reboot.
Then I have to manually lower the brightness each time. This is tedious
and annoying. I hope this problem gets fixed.

This issue is still there. I'm using a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile
D9500. If I put this GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=acpi_backlight=vendor in my
/etc/default/grub file, then the brightness works fine; however, the
brightness controls in Settings no longer work.

I am unable to increase screen brightness at all, my brightness is
extremely low. there is no place to change this in the settings
manager.
