but Eclipse PDT does NOT work with the default Ubuntu JVM,
I got the same problems as Áron Sisak. However, I was able to fix the
"Unable to create file..." problem by changing permission on the
/usr/lib/eclipse/features and /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins directories:
sudo chmod ug+w /usr/lib/eclipse/features
sudo chmod ug+w /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins

I encounter the same problem with Eclipse on Feisty 32bits. I tried both
with Java 1.5 and Java 6. I don't remember having this trouble with
Dapper or Edgy.

This seems to be Java RE dependent. Try to install sun-java5-jdk and set

Hi Aron,
Got a bug identification from Synaptic!! Conducted just a new full
install and this time I checked what synaptic shows in details.
Cannot copy that so I send you a screen shot of that window. Tells me
that there is grave bug in eclipse.

only that SUN 5.0 installed. Hope that helps and not breaks other
applications. Using a Alpha version is amazing but interesting. Only
Do you have the Sun JVM installed? I guess Eclipse is working (better) with
that.
I think I also have various plugins installed and they seem to work flawlessly.

not have a red cross.
