Public bug reported: Oneiric: Latest daily build - today. I regard it as a bug that the 'applications' and 'places' icons have been removed from the sidebar. The preferred method for opening applications has been by right-clicking the apps icon to get the applications by category. Using the top Ubuntu icon is far more time consuming.
