It likewise works, and doesn't load the uas module:

Once again, no /proc/version_signatur
Tested using the v3.3-rc7-precise kernel image from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.3-rc7-precise/
And it works!
The uas module is unblacklisted:
> etc/modprobe.d% grep -r uas *
blacklist-usb.conf:# blacklist uas
But it doesn't load anyway:
> lsmod | grep uas
[1]2704 done
