originally u will problably find at the end of this file:
*.=notice;*.=warn |/dev/xconsole
*.=notice;*.=warn |/dev/console

U can fix this bug by editing the /etc/rsyslog.d/50-default.conf file:

I resolved this by booting into recovery mode and running 'apt-get
update' followed by 'apt-get upgrade'
