Please disable beryl from starting upon log in than reboot and see if
you can reproduce the freeze. I know beryl 1.999* causes alot of
freezing. to disable it in gnome (if using aiglx) log in open either
gnome-control-center or go to systemprefferences sessions. and go to
the start up tab and
