Please reopen this issue. Using Blueman is not an option in my and I suspect many others' cases. In my specific use case tethering a phone as a bluetooth DUN modem succeeds in Blueman however the modem never is made available in NetworkManager. Gnome-control-center is no longer installed by Xubuntu. This also has blocked installing bluetooth, however, users can install blueman which allows use of bluetooth devices. Since the crash no longer occurs because there is no bluetooth to click on, I am closing the bug report. ** Changed in: gnom

So what should we do here? We could hide the "Settings.." menu entry if control-center is not available, that should even be upstreamable. I'm just not sure how far you can get without the capplet, i. e. whether you can even pair. The alternative is that the Xubuntu team uses a different bluetooth
