Why you expect that? Onboard has appeared in the development release
menus for at least two releases now. Unfortunately, the Ubuntu patch
gets applied right before the final images, which makes that invalid.
This time, please change the desktop file before final images, so that
at least Xubuntu can
the Ubuntu patch that removed it from the menu is not present in the
Oneiric package and onboard does appear now in the unity applications
lens, so I expect this to work just fine in xubuntu Oneiric

I support this request, I have a wireless keyboard and sometimes when
its batery dies I still need to use the keyboard.
Obviously I can Not launch it from a terminal, that would be really
silly, and not having it on the menus its quite annoying.
