Binary package hint: xfce4-terminal
I just upgraded from edgy to feisty. Now xfce4-terminal paints itself very
slow. Consider the following procedue.
1. Start xfce4-terminal
2. ls -l /
3. Switch to firefox, which is full-screen
4. Switch to xfce4-terminal
Immediately, the window manager related controls are painted.
Then, the whole text area is swiped from top to bottom for 1 second (like an
OOo Impress effect).
Finally, the "ls -l" output originally in the text area are painted from top to
bottom for 1 second.
The problem is not exhibited in gnome-terminal.
