This works fine for my now.
It may have occurred because there were some changes made to software-center
binary last week but have been reverted.

I'm not sure if we should change the command we call, or try and open
the desktop file /usr/share/applications/ubuntu-software-center.desktop
and call the exec line using g_app_info_launch_uris(). Seems like both
could change, but the desktop file would be easier to check for it's
existence to
The ISO from 2011-08-29 successfully launches the (new) software center
(4.1.20), but it complains that There isn't a software package called
'cheese' in your current software sources.
