That was an "early" Ubuntu pre-beta1 iso (probably 2 or 3 rebuilds prior
to the actual beta1), but I checked a fresh install of the Lubuntu Beta
1 and even it shows this line in lxdm.log:
Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.24-29-server i686 Ubuntu
I don't know what that means, it's far beyond my t
Looking at the log, the installation seems to be outdated (the version
of kernel is still 2.6). I tried with Ubuntu beta 1, but I wasn't able
to reproduce it. Installing lxdm and replacing lightdm works as
expected.

I seem to have X totally jacked up in that install, no matter it's just
a test installation and there's a new build notification for Ubuntu
right now. Anyway, since I couldn't boot it I copied the logs from a
parallel installation so you could take a look. There were both an
lxdm.log and an lxdm.lo
Thank you for the bug report. However, since lxdm is not used with an
ubuntu session on a ISO, it should not be marked as iso-testing.
Could you please attached /var/log/lxdm.log to the bug report ? Also, do
you installed both lubuntu-desktop and ubuntu-desktop metapackages ?
