This looks like it might have been caused by a bad installation of the hwdb packages. Could you please try running: $ sudo apt-get --reinstall install hwdb-client-common hwdb-client-gnome Then report back to us on whether that fixes the problem. Thanks! ** Changed in: hwdb-client (Ubuntu)
