I know I filed this bug and all, but what exactly should I be testing on
hardy? I can connect from hardy to my desktop running gutsy, if that's
what we're after, but I don't run edgy anymore.

I have the same problem trying to connect to a Samba Share running on a
fresh feisty Xubuntu install.
What I did:
1. Fresh install of Xubuntu on server
2. Set up a SMB Share via Shared Folders
3. Add users via smbpasswd
4. Attempt to open the shared folder on either of two other laptops runnin
This looks like the bug that I encounter when I try to access a SMB
share on my Debian server.
I don't think it is related to Edgy.

As a test, I fell back to smbclient:

Hmm. That part works as well. But replacing the IP with the netbios
name (jldugger) fails, even though the browser clearly displays both
computers. This works fine on windows, so I doubt it's the router. It
won't work in edgy, due to a known bug. I don't seem to have a Dapper
CD on hand, so I c
