It happened again. More system files got deleted. I was logged in and
noticed because apt wasn't working. Here is a copy of my fstab. The
messages file isn't working for some reason (it was probably one of the
deleted inodes files this time. Also all the other files in the
/var/log directory s

whatever your hard drive is) and they would say something along the
lines of 'drive seek ready complete error'. You might boot off the Live
CD and try using smartctl from the smartmontools package to run a self
