If you could also test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine this
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag. T
Hi pwwnow,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue, c
Better late than never! :->
Problem persists with release version of Intrepid.
Referring back to Ben's suggestion that this may be a problem with xorg
not reinitializing properly after a suspend - how do we determine that?
(Note that "everything" seems to work fine, other than video playback.)

As per comment 15, I'm updating status to "new". I just installed the
latest Alpha (installed 09/30 via "update-manager -c -d") and I've just
verified that the problem persists:
Clean start, open movie player, open video, plays fine. Suspend and wake

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Just confirming that I have the same issue on an Asus Z96J since
upgrading to Feisty. Video card is an ATI mobility x1600.
I use Kubuntu and KDM doesn't seem to be any slower than usual.
Another symptom though is that the new Kubuntu icon execute effect also
slows right down. This effect is a f
That's fine, this isn't a show-stopper for me (good thing I'm not a
video hacker...! :->).
Do let me know what additional information I can provide, though, so we
can make sure this does get addressed.

Most suspend/resume problems won't get fixed until the next major
release. There is a lot of upstream kernel work happening right now to
fix some of these problems.

Another data point: If I restart gdm after resume from suspend2mem, gdm
itself is very slow to load: It can take minutes for the login dialog to
appear, then, when I log in, it can take many minutes for my session to
be completely enabled (background in place, all menus and icons ready,
etc.). It c

FWIW, everything else appears to work fine*, the only thing that appears
to be affected is video playback: After resume, I continue using the
computer for day-to-day office activities, response seems reasonable

Is this from a suspend (suspend2mem) or hibernate (suspend2disk)?
I'm more inclined to think that this is a problem of xorg not
reinitializing properly after a suspend.
