I apologize, my system is Ubuntu 11.04 but the problem appears also in
Ubuntu 10.04. I read the instructions and do not know the parameters
Bus and Device in the command:
$ hp-makeuri Bus:Device
I appreciate your help. I can not work without a printer, my job is
based on the use of the printer.

Do not waste time with my problem. I researched the file
cups_problem.txt and the failure to operate the printer in Ubuntu
10.04 and 11.04 and I finded that the cable is broken. Therefore, It is
not a problem with cups but a connection problem. A new cable has
fixed the problem.

So I am closing the bug now ...
