Dear Till
Do not waste time with my problem. I researched the file
"cups_problem.txt" and the failure to operate the printer in Ubuntu
10.04 and 11.04 and I finded that the cable is broken. Therefore, It is
not a problem with "cups" but a connection problem. A new cable has
fixed the problem.

I apologize, my system is Ubuntu 11.04 but the problem appears also in
Ubuntu 10.04. I read the instructions and do not know the parameters
"Bus" and "Device" in the command:
$ hp-makeuri :

based on the use of the printer.
