Carlos Calderari Peñaranda, this bug was reported a while ago and there
hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is
still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
Brian, since Carlos is not responding to my request, can you please try
following my instructions instead?

Hi Timothy and Brian!! I've tried it, but it only works for a while, and
when restarting it goes black again, and you have to use the command
given in that post to reactivate the backlight. Maybe there's a way to
put that instructions in grub so when it loads the kernel it modifies
the backlight
