Public bug reported:

I'm using totem 3.0.1-0ubuntu7 (same version is listed for all totem
related packages), on ubuntu 11.10 64bit.

The issue is - if i try to watch an m4v video file in firefox, from my
university's server
(http://learn.lboro.ac.uk/file.php/997/Videos/Safety_Talk/Safety_Talk_-
_iPhone.m4v), then totem searches for a suitable plugin and an error
occurs: The playback of this movie requires a text/html decoder plugin
which is not installed.

However, if i 'save as' on the link to the video and put in on my
computer, i can double click the video to run in totem and it runs
perfectly?

video/x-m4v MPEG-4 video m4v is listed in
about:plugins

Something's a bit inconsistent here - why can i only play the m4v video
file on my computer and not directly from the internet?

** Affects: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
