You might wanna try qdbusviewer instead, it works much better than
kdbus. Just do the following
sudo apt-get install qt4-dev-tools
qdbusviewer
(seen here: http://raetsel.wordpress.com/2008/04/25/kde4-save-current-

Hi,
i can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 7.10 (Gusty Gibbon).
kdbus freezes at startup for a minute or so. After that it works fine.

My guess is that it's timing out on a D-Bus introspection method call
(some service isn't replying, for whatever reason).

Confirming annoying UI experience in this app on feisty gutsy. Even
once the UI does start to respond it does lock up now and again after
that (I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing to cause it to lock up -
seems to only happen when the app doesn't have focus).

at most.
