Public bug reported: Numerous regressions in alsa after upgrading the OS to 11.10.
1. Headphones no longer work. It doesn't detect the plugging in of the headphones, if you set the output to headphones explicitly no sound comes out. 2. Gnome alsamixer segfaults on launch. 3. Internal microphone recording quality is atrocious. There is a very loud hum and the recorded sound is very low. Attempting to boost the recording volume also makes the sum louder until there is so much distortion it hurts your ears. ALC269 Analog. I tried all the options in the HD-Audio-Models.txt but none of them seemed to make any difference.
