This is exactly the same behavior I see in a fresh 11.10 64-bit install with TrueCrypt 7.1. >From what I understand the tray icon can be re-instated by adding it to a whitelist but I really don't understand how the Ubuntu usability team can be 'ok' with expecting the user to know this - let alone
