I tested that I could reproduce the dh-make bug with the test case as
described in the description on oneiric, and then tested that the
version in oneiric-proposed doesn't suffer from the same problem and
produces a broadly sensible-looking example source package.

To manage
I've installed lightdm and verified that $LOGNAME is no longer null
and contains the username as expected. This fixes the problem I
originally logged as Bug #864109 in Oneiric beta 2
I can't verify that the problem with dh-make is fixed as I'm not
involved in repackaging.

So in the meantime, at least until the oneiric version of dh-make gets
updated, would this be the proper workaround:
replace:
dh_make -n -s -e myem...@address.com
with:
export LOGNAME=$USER dh_make -n -s -e
If you're going to put it all in one command then drop the 'export'.
Setting LOGNAME works around the problem a little further up the chain
of events than setting DEBFULLNAME, so you don't need to set both, no.
