kde sometimes hangs during logout
To manage
I noticed in the log for kdm after the greeter crashed (which is what I
think is happening here) that there were errors about not being able to
connect to a dbus instance (although I verified that dbus was running.)

I don't know if this is related but kdm logs this to syslog.
kdm_greet[7070]: Cannot load /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/faces/.default.face: No
such file or directory
