James, the TLV changes in Feisty shouldn't be affecting your audio
chipset, since your codec (AD1981B) doesn't even have hooks in the
source code to the dB scaling. Your 'Headphone' mixer control above is
zeroed and muted; what effect does unmuting it and setting it to 80%
have?

So I left it for a while and then tried rmmod-ing snd-intel8x0 and
readding it again and that work. Symptom is still reproducable.

I have the same problem with my laptop using both Ubuntu/Kubuntu
i386/AMD64 herd-5 live CDs, the volume from the speakers is too low and
the sound from the headphones output is somewhat louder but as a lot of
static.
Should i open a new bug or is this the same issue?
My laptop has a Intel 945PM Ex
