This is the day Tuesday and Saturday in my language (pt_br)
Tuesday contains the character "ç" (terça) and Saturday and contains
accent (sábado), since the other day contains common characters.
When the day is Tuesday or Saturday, the label does not appear as .png

See how in Ubuntu 11.04. Different from 11:10, this works perfectly.

Could you please post here the contents of your /etc/default/locale
file? Also, did you install the "language-pack-pt", "language-pack-pt-
base", "language-pack-gnome-pt" and "language-pack-gnome-pt-base"
packages and, if so, what are their versions?

Could you please try changing the line
LANG="pt_BR"
to
LANG="pt_BR.UTF8"
in the /etc/default/locale file, then log out and log back in and see if that
fixes the problem?

OK, seems the bug is similar to bug #771510. (A possible duplicate of
this bug is also bug #877629). I'll try to reproduce the issue in the
next days.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to reproduce the bug. A fresh
install of Ubuntu generates a correct /etc/default/locale file, which in
turn means the days of the week have displayed correctly.
Is someone else here able to reproduce?
