Christopher, I can confirm that the 12.04 LiveCD hangs at "Loading
bootlogo", but that the 12.10 alpha 3 amd+mac iso from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.10/alpha-3/ boots fine, after
setting a boot option.
At the man+keyboard screen, press any key and accept English, then press
F6, then mov
reg, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

I can confirm that I am seeing this behavior on my Macbook Pro Model 8,3
on the 11.10 LiveCD (Desktop and Alternate) and on a few 12.04 variants
as well.

Phil, the problem appears before the kernel is loaded I think.
I think the problem lies somewhere between isolinux and the live cd menu (grub?)
I created the bug report from the question mentioning the symptom hence the
ubiquity assignment. Obviously need to be moved to another package.
