I am now experiencing this over two versions (10.10. and 11.04, both 32
bit):

When printing photos or small or big PDFs, the printer prints one or two
correct pages and then a page on which it only prints "Insufficient
memory" and some error code.

Installed cups version is 1.4.6-5ubuntu1.4. No proprietary driver has
been installed on the test system, just plug and play (unfortunately no
good play).

No such problem with MS Windows (sorry, guys).

The printer is pretty standard and SAMSUNG even advertises it as
compatible with various Linux distributions.

It is pretty much up to date and still in sale.
