"Unity makes Ubuntu unusable" is definitely not true. I do miss a lot of
configuration options and I there is a lot of behaviour that I find
inefficient. But I am a productivity optimizing guy and not the standard
user. A standard home user will be served well enough with Unity.

Honestly: I find neither Gnome 3 nor Unity to push Ubuntu or Linux much
further on the desktop. For me both are not intuitive although I have
seen a lot of different GUIs and Desktop environments and consider
myself being flexible in adopting to new/other environments.
Since 10.10 I tested all the
Unity is a tool. It is a nice option, but it is not the best tool for
all jobs. Unfortunately, it seems to have also become a religion to
some people, and that is upsetting to those of us that do not like it.
Having a tablet interface on a power desktop is just not helpful to a
lot of people. An
Should a new bug be reported regarding that? I'd say GNOME Shell would
also be affected.
I can't reproduce this issue. Unity works great for me!
