the 1400w printer not installed at all I tried to install it using the
cups interface in localhost using the most recent PPD. The results were
the same as when Ubuntu would find the connected printer, install it,

I have a related problem running Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit trying to install a
Konica-Minolta 1400w printer. When I connect the printer, Ubuntu sees
then printer, and proceeds to install it. Then I get a message it is
installed and the printer is shown in the available printers. However,

Fixed upstream in foomatic-db. With the changed foomatic-db at least the
KONICA MINOLTA versions of the PagePro printers should get correctly
assigned with the min12xxw driver. For the KONICA MINOLTA versions of
the magicolor printers the m2300w package needs changes, too. Adding
task for this pack

printer detection going wrong.

Hi, thanks for response.
But installing foomatic-db doesn't show any effect.
I also tried to install printer via manual installation-process, but
computer never comes back from searching printer-driver as shown in
screenshot.
