I'm reporting it only now because it started to annoy me.
The hardware: Sony Vaio VPCEB1M1E (for details see attached
dmidecode.log and other files).
The symptoms:

The problem still exists on 12.04 (Precise Pangolin).
I've tried running "ubuntu-bug linux", but it complained that I'm using
mainline kernel instead of official Ubuntu one, which is untrue - I've
recently upgraded to the 12.04 release and didn't mess with custom
kernels. Here's the uname output:

After upgrading to 12.04 my webcam disappeared and I had the forever stream
"hub 1-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

Rebooting with the old 11.10 kernel my webcam was back.
