I could reproduce the problem in lxde, unity 2d and unity 3d (12.04 up-
to-date 32 64 bit)
QT_ACCESSIBILITY=0 scribus
allways solves the problem.

Same problem here. Once I select a folder in the 'open file' dialog, i
get 'Scribus crashes due to Signal #6'.
As suggested,
QT_ACCESSIBILITY=0 scribus
...works. Scribus then crashes SIGV11 later while loading the PDF file
I am trying to edit, but that is another bug.
