Public bug reported: As the freedesktop.org upstream is kinda dead, but geoclue seems to be ina bit of development in Ubuntu I'm filing the bug here, too.
gpsd 3.3 (currently in Debian experimental) comes with a new API (v5) and geoclue will fail to build against it. IMHO the whole gpsd provider should be rewritten - parsing NMEA is not really the best way to handle gps data. Enough examples should be shipped with gpsd's source code. don't hesitate to ask if you have questions :) ** Affects: geoclue Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: geoclue (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #40996 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40996 ** Also affects: geoclue via https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40996 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: geoclue (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/893310 Title: geoclue: will fail to build against gpsd 3.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/geoclue/+bug/893310/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
