This bug is not fixed for me with 2.6.27. When I resume from standby, I
no longer get a screen full of usbdev error messages, just a brief flash
of text before the screen goes black and the system hangs. Setting
MODULES_WHITELIST="usbhid" in /etc/default/acpi-support again fixes the
problem.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

I also have this bug. On resume from standby (S3), after a few seconds
I get a brief mouse cursor on a black screen, and then a half page full
of lines like the one below, and the system shuts down.

When I boot again, most often it "wakes up

better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet
have enough information.
Please include the following additional information, if you have not already
done so (please pay attention to lspci's addi
when I boot with noapic eventually irq 7 (spurious) fails and is
disabled ... usb used irq 7 so then no usb.
boot with apic ... if in ubuntu logo boot screen or Xwindow (nvidia) then no
problems ... as soon as I switch to a console (alt + fn) then system hangs.
somtimes console is random colours
