Oh - and I have a variation of what appears to be the same problem.
Sometimes after suspend the screen partially comes back - the mouse
cursor is working and visible, but the login screen never appears. The
screen just stays black.

I'm still having this problem on 12.04. It happens much more often when
my laptop is not plugged in, or when the battery is very low.
This is obviously a very high priority for those of us with this
problem. A workaround or a patch or at least a description of the
problem would be incredibly helpf
Occurs every single suspend on Ubuntu 11.10 on Thinkpad T400. No clue
how to fix that.
