It's certainly invalid against the kernel, since the problem is in a
gconf setting. From what information I see the best explanation seems to
be that touchpad-indicator is at fault, but that doesn't appear to be an
official Ubuntu package. My suggestion would be to file a bug with
whoever provides
Oh I was not my intention to file it agaist the kernel. Sorry about that.
Since i didn't know what the package was I used ubuntu-bug linux with the
intention to then change it to I don't know in the web form, which I guess I
forgot.
I thought the upgrade had been responsible for uninstalling

I got it fixed by installing dconf-settings, running dconf-editor and goig to
org / gnome / settings-daemon / peripherals / touchpad
and the option touchpad-enabled was unchecked. So I checked
it. Now the touchpad works.
