Public bug reported: * Using Ubuntu 11.10 * Using the CD burner integrated with Nautilus (Brasero 3.2.0-0ubuntu1) * ...but the bug was also present with 11.04 and whatever version was available then.
I tried to burn a data CD, but Brasero destroys the CD. By "destroy" I mean: when I try to mount the CD into my computer or another the system can't seem to find it (it doesn't mount, not as empty, not as full of the content which supposedly is there). Background information (all with the same computer and built-in CD burner): * Autumn 2010 (10.04): I burned lots of data CDs with Brasero * Spring 2011 (10.10 or 11.04): I burned a data CD with Brasero * Summer 2011 (11.04): I tried to burn a data CD but failed, I assumed it was a HW failure (since I'm not always careful with my laptop). * Now (11.10): I hoped that it'd work, but Brasero failed me again. As a last resort I installed K3b, which magically burned my CD successfully (so the bug is with Brasero, not my HW). I'm attaching two Brasero logs, for different sets of options: 1. Burn without saving on HD, don't leave open, use burnproof, simulate before burning This didn't destroy the CD, but didn't burn anything either. 2. Burn without saving on HD, don't leave open, use burnproof, *don't* simulate before burning This destroyed the CD. ** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/905047 Title: Brasero burns, but in the end makes CDs unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/905047/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
