Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work
Actually I do not consider this a bug in gnome-netstatus as you
specified an invalid network device which does not exist at the point in
time you hit the icon.
What's your WLAN card/driver? One might consider it a bug that it takes
down the device when the kill switch is activated. My ipw3945
