Happens to me sometimes when I use xrandr to make my monitor output "--above"
my laptop's monitor.
I use a Awesome Window Manager on a Gnome session (the content of my
/usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome-awesome.session is attached)

Getting this trying to log in on an xdmcp session from a mac running
Xephyr. Not sure if this error is related to initial attempt to log in
with default Unity desktop, or subsequent attempt to log in with
Unity2d, which is at least partially functional (various display bugs
eg: short titlebars)

Like privious poster it happens on startup. I just launched firefox and the
problem occurred.

This has happened to me about once a day for the last five days, usually
immediately upon login.
I'm only testing 64 bit precise, haven't checked to see if it happens in 32
bits as well.

just did a apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade, reboot the system and
installed Nvidia driver and restarted again. This bug occurred upon login
immediatly.
