Confirmed: Problem exists for me in Gusty. Running as a server. If I
click a text field before start, it runs successfully.

I compiled QuickSynergy 0.7 (after install libgtk2.0-dev package) on
Ubuntu Feisty and still received segmentation faults on server start.
Let me know what files or error messages you would like to see.

quicksynergy from synaptic (0.5)
ubuntu feisty on one side
mac os x 10.4.8 on the other
quicksynergy as server on feisty produces:

Also tried 0.6 deb package, but received:
libc6 package missing
but libc6 package IS installed on ubuntu 7.04
BTW, I checked within the package itself and it wants libc6 =2.5-5
ubuntu is 2.5.0ubuntu14

on previous versions.
manzano, I think you need to install the libgtk2.0-dev in order to
compile QuickSynergy.

I am the Linux developer of QuickSynergy. I would really like to help
you all to solve these problems. However, I was not able to reproduce
the bugs. I installed quicksynergy from the Ubuntu repositories both in
Edgy and Feisty, and the two versions worked fine (both in Server and
I can confirm this (although I'm running feisty). Synergy (terminal
client/server) works, but Quicksynergy will only crash.
To duplicate this open Quicksynergy and click start under server
(with/without entering ip addresses). It doesn't crash when running
client though.
