It turns out, the third time I logged into Unity, the problem magically
disappeared. Between the second and third time I logged in, I did
install gnome-session-fallback (because Unity was unusable). Not being
much of a desktop/window manager type, I can't see why that might have
made a difference.

Thanks for your bug report. This *might* need to be packaged against nautilus
as that is the file manager, but I'll leave that decision up to someone more
informed. In any case, could you please run the following command in a terminal
