Well I have hauppauge nova-t with conexant chip and it uses cx88-dvb
aswell and yes, it not loading it by default like it did before(since
dapper). Well it's not a big deal I can load it from boot. But it would
be better to get it working out of the box(for newbies sake).

I can also confirm this. Adding cx88_dvb into /etc/modules is a
temporary fix for those with this problem. You can also type sudo
modprobe cx88_dvb as a temporary fix for the current session.
Let's hope this gets fixed soon, there are only 2 days until the kernel
freeze :S

during a chat with and , this appears to be intentional
behavior for the time being (unless I'm completely misreading that log).
It will be fixed next time v4l-dvb is synced.

Had they same problem with my DVB-S card
HW:
AMD X2 4200+
2 GB RAM
nVidia Geforce 7600 GT
DVB-S card:
Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-S
Using Edgy and Kaffeine it worked really fine 'out-of-the box'.
With feisty Kaffeine coulnd't find my DVB-S card. Modprobe the cx88-dvb
module fixed the problem but it i
