Same problem here with a broadcom based chip. Using directly wpa-supplicant (without network-monitor) makes all work fine. Using NetworkMonitor, I cannot associate with WPA2/Personal wireless. With Open, Wep protected and WPA/Enterprise protected wireless networks all works perfectly. Not tested
