I was aware of what I was saying and would be responsible for it. There
are also quite a few crash/freeze reports over Fedora and Ubuntu forum.
Even if this only happened with ATI, it is still considered a bug and
moreover, I gave a fix. I also edited the #1. I forgot to mention I was
using open so
I'm closing this because I can't duplicate with my Intel drivers and
it's not clear whether your crash affects Ubuntu. I don't see a good
reason to disable transition effects.

Sorry, but PinguyOS is not the same as Ubuntu 11.10. If it were, there
would be no need for PinguyOS. If you're getting crashes, perhaps try
without the extra extensions PinguyOS uses.
The crash you're getting might be a graphics driver problem. fglrx in
particular doesn't work 100% yet.
