I am also seeing this bug under Jaunty. I can log in to my remote
servers if I use a terminal session. However, the GUI (i.e. a bookmarked
SSH server under 'Places | Bookmarks' nearly always times out before
completing the connection. Sometimes, may 1-2 % of the time, it works.
Otherwise, failure.
We are closing this bug report because it lacks the information we need

Sorry, I fixed simply reinstalling libgnomevfs2-0. I don't know why, since it's
a fresh installation with only official repositories.
Should be libgnomevfs2-0 bug probably.

Still present on gutsy gibbon. Nautilus sends an error claiming it can't
connect to the specified server when using password identification.
I workarounded using rsa key identification.

I have ubuntu Feisty installed on my toshiba laptop and fully updated
but this problems still happens. I cant connect to my server with SSH
using the GUI. When I go to places and click on the server icon it
brings a timeout error and when I double click on the icon on the
desktop, nothing happens.
Oh...I forgot to mention that ssh-login works fine again.

I have the exact same problem. Also when using ssh from the terminal it
seems to take 5-10 seconds to prompt for a password which never happened
in edgy or dapper. I don't know if the two issues are related, but I
thought the extra info could be useful.

I can confirm this bug as well. Steps:
1) Go to Places -> Connect to Server
2) Input server information and then click "Connect"
The expected result here (as it was in previous versions) is that an
icon appears on the desktop, which when you double-click it would then
actually connect to the ser
This appears to be a nautilus problem. I am running Feisty with all updates.
Choosing Places/Connect to a Server and then SSH, I fill in the info to connect
to my office server and give the desktop file folder a name. Choosing connect,
nothing seems to happen. If I logout and then back in, the fi
